Water Truck Operator – Maintenance Rural Crews

About the role

Central Highlands Regional Council is seeking full‑time Water Truck Operators to join its Maintenance Rural Crews. As part of the Infrastructure team you will operate water trucks and perform labouring tasks that support the construction, maintenance and upkeep of roads and town facilities across the Central Highlands region.

Key responsibilities

• Operate water trucks and related plant equipment on rural job sites.
• Carry out labouring duties to assist with road and town facility projects.
• Work on‑site for extended periods, including staying in camp environments when required.
• Participate in overtime opportunities and contribute to on‑call emergency work.
• Maintain compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Willingness to work on rural sites and live in camp when needed.
• Positive, flexible approach to a variety of operating and labouring tasks.
• Construction White Card.
• Current Queensland Class HR licence (minimum).
• Australian citizenship, permanent residency or a visa permitting permanent work in Australia.

Required skills

• Water truck operation.
• Plant and heavy‑vehicle operation.

• Award Stream B, Level 6 remuneration – $45.02 hourly (incl. superannuation & allowances).
