US Tax Accountant (Remote - Argentina)

About the role

Join a US‑focused tax team as a remote US Tax Accountant based in Argentina. You will prepare and review complex multi‑entity returns, provide tax planning guidance, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with US‑based teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120‑S returns, including K‑1s, capital accounts, and basis calculations.
• Evaluate QBI (199A) eligibility, reasonable compensation for S‑corp shareholders, and multi‑state apportionments.
• Manage credits, elections, fixed‑asset depreciation schedules, and carry‑forward calculations.
• Build audit‑ready workpapers, handle e‑filings, extensions, and respond to IRS/state notices.
• Standardize SOPs, checklists, and automation rules to improve workflow efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of US tax experience preparing individual and entity returns.
• Strong knowledge of US federal and state tax regulations and GAAP.
• Ability to work US business hours from Argentina.

Required skills

• Tax software: ProConnect, UltraTax, Drake, Lacerte (or similar).
• Cloud accounting tools: QuickBooks Online, Xero.
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets (lookups, pivots).
• Fluent written and spoken English.
