Transaction Monitoring Lead - LATAM

About the role

dLocal is looking for a Transaction Monitoring Lead for the LATAM region. This hands‑on leadership position sits at the intersection of compliance, data and technology, overseeing the end‑to‑end transaction monitoring framework across Latin America.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the LATAM Transaction Monitoring (TM) team, set performance targets and manage stakeholder relationships with local compliance officers, regional FCC leads and the Global Head of TM.
• Configure, tune and maintain pre‑ and post‑transaction monitoring rules, and partner with Data Compliance to design ML‑based detection models.
• Oversee L1/L2 alert investigation, RFI management, complex case decisioning and SAR/STR filing strategies, ensuring timely submission to local FIUs.
• Coordinate responses to audits and regulatory inquiries across LATAM, acting as the main contact for partners, banks and payment providers.
• Define and drive the roadmap for agentic TM and CDD controls, translating compliance requirements into clear technical specifications.
• Own KPIs for the LATAM TM team, run monthly QA programmes and ensure investigation quality and consistency.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in Financial Crime Compliance / AML/CFT with a strong focus on transaction monitoring.
• 4+ years of experience leading compliance teams.
• Deep knowledge of LATAM AML/CFT regulations, FIU requirements and sanctions.
• Fluent English; Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred.

• SQL and dashboarding for reporting and analysis.
• Automation of compliance processes.
• Experience with SAR/STR filing and regulatory reporting.
