Systems Analyst – Remote (Clinical Trials Payments)

About the role

We are seeking a remote Systems Analyst with strong technical depth to design and map complex system integrations, especially involving payment platforms, within a clinical trials environment. The role focuses on translating ambiguous, non‑standard requirements into practical technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and map integrations between internal systems and external payment platforms.
• Interpret protocol specifications and Electronic Data Capture (EDC) documentation for integration scenarios.
• Resolve non‑standard integration challenges where no out‑of‑the‑box solution exists.
• Bridge technical implementation with business and functional requirements.
• Collaborate with development teams to validate feasibility of designs.
• Document integration designs, data flows, and technical decisions for technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Manage end‑to‑end site payment workflows, including verification, triggers, remittance processing, and reconciliation.
• Align payment rules with site budgets, contract terms, and country‑specific financial requirements.
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, escalating issues as needed.
• Partner with clinical operations teams to ensure payment triggers reflect protocol schedules.

Required profile

• Experience as a Systems Analyst or a developer who has transitioned into a Systems Analyst role.
• Hands‑on development experience preferred over a purely process‑oriented background.
• Proven ability to work with protocol specifications and technical/API documentation.
• Experience with payment platforms or financial systems integration.
• Previous experience in the clinical trials industry, with knowledge of site payment processes.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and comfort operating in ambiguous, evolving environments.
• Solid communication skills for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
