Stress Analysis Engineer – Nuclear Projects

About the role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Stress Analysis Engineer to support the design, operation, and refurbishment of CANDU nuclear power plants. The role is based in Buenos Aires and involves working on major engineering projects that improve communities worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team to perform design analysis of reactor components, systems and structures, including mechanical equipment.
• Conduct engineering calculations for nuclear pressure‑boundary components.
• Prepare formal technical reports and review design documents, calculations, and analysis reports.
• Develop engineering budgets, support proposal preparation and ensure activities stay within budget and schedule.
• Provide accurate progress reporting to technical and project managers and resolve critical engineering issues promptly.
• Execute work in compliance with AtkinsRéalis/Candu Energy Quality Assurance programs, applicable codes, standards and regulations.
• Coordinate with clients, suppliers, stakeholders and other design disciplines.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated professional able to work independently and develop a career in the nuclear field.
• Ability to follow instructions from a qualified professional engineer and produce required engineering design documentation.
• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
