Staff Engineer, IT Infrastructure and Operations

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Staff Engineer to keep the local technology environment of a global financial‑services business available, stable and well supported. The role covers workplace technology, networks, servers, connectivity and cloud‑based corporate services while providing first‑ and second‑line user support.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain local infrastructure, monitoring systems, networks and services for performance and availability.
• Handle maintenance, patching, backups and security controls in line with corporate standards.
• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support across hardware, software, operating systems and productivity tools.
• Prepare and configure equipment for new starters, replacements and upgrades.
• Manage incidents and requests, escalating complex issues and following them through to resolution.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects and maintain clear technical documentation.

Required profile

• Experience supporting and administering corporate IT infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux, networks, connectivity and incident troubleshooting.
• Exposure to cloud‑based corporate services, monitoring and ticketing tools.
• Basic automation, scripting or DevOps knowledge and understanding of infrastructure security practices.
• Advanced study or a degree in systems, IT, engineering, telecommunications or a related field.
