Solution Architect – Azure Cloud (Buenos Aires)

About the role

Chevron Global Business Services is looking for a Solution Architect to join its IT team in Buenos Aires. The role focuses on designing and governing end‑to‑end cloud solutions that support the company’s global business services.

Key responsibilities

• Define scalable, secure, and maintainable solution architectures aligned with enterprise strategy.
• Own key architectural decisions, balancing business value, cost efficiency, and long‑term sustainability.
• Assess build‑vs‑buy‑vs‑reuse options and produce architecture artifacts such as diagrams, integration patterns, and decision records.
• Guide development teams on architectural standards while maintaining delivery velocity.
• Lead architecture reviews, ensuring compliance with security, governance, and enterprise standards.
• Perform technical feasibility studies, cost‑benefit analyses, and manage technical risks and debt.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and engineering teams to translate requirements into cloud‑native solutions.
• Support modernization initiatives, including migration of legacy systems to Azure‑based architectures.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing complex enterprise solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Strong understanding of cloud‑native patterns such as microservices, event‑driven architecture, and API‑led integration.
• Ability to evaluate trade‑offs between PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS offerings.
• Experience with resiliency, high‑availability, and disaster‑recovery design.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure‑as‑code automation.
