Software Engineer II – Test Automation

About the role

Join the Test Automation Software Engineering Group at J.P. Morgan to drive quality and innovation across our global financial services platforms. You will work closely with product managers, analysts, and developers to design, build, and maintain automated testing solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute functional and performance testing scenarios for API services.
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium WebDriver, REST Assured, and JMeter.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify testing needs and ensure coverage of business functions.
• Perform triage and analysis of failures in complex multi‑system environments.

Required profile

• 4+ years of hands‑on experience in software engineering, system design, and testing.
• Proven ability to use enterprise‑authorized AI coding‑assist tools and validate their outputs.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, agile methodologies, CI/CD, and security best practices.

Required skills

• Automation tools: REST Assured, Cucumber, Serenity, Selenium WebDriver, JMeter/Blazemeter.
• Programming and scripting: Java (or similar), Maven, Eclipse IDE/IntelliJ.
• Version control: GIT, Subversion.
• Web technologies: RESTful services, JSON, XML, HTML, JDBC.
• Testing frameworks: Gherkin syntax.
