Software Developer – Internal Tooling & Security

About the role

Join SimCorp’s FinTech team as a Software Developer focused on internal tooling and security. You will work closely with engineering squads to embed security controls into the development lifecycle and build automation that boosts developer productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain internal tools that improve developer efficiency and security practices.
• Implement security controls such as vulnerability detection, static code analysis, and secure coding guidelines.
• Write clean, maintainable, object‑oriented code following established design patterns.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team standards.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to understand needs and deliver practical solutions.
• Diagnose and fix bugs, resolve security vulnerabilities, modernize legacy components, and add new functionality.
• Support continuous improvement of development workflows and tooling.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent demonstrable knowledge.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming principles.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and common vulnerabilities (e.g., injection attacks, input validation, authentication weaknesses).
• Proficiency with Git and version‑control workflows.
• Experience writing efficient SQL for relational databases.
• Depth of technical fundamentals over breadth.
