Shipboard Laundry Manager

About the role

The Shipboard Laundry Manager oversees the daily operation of the laundry facility on a cruise vessel, ensuring that all linen, uniforms and guest items are cleaned, pressed, and delivered to the appropriate areas on schedule. Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, the manager guarantees equipment reliability, quality standards, and seamless coordination with other ship departments.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily laundry processes including washing, ironing, dry‑cleaning and storage of all items.
• Inspect and maintain laundry equipment, ensuring dryers are lint‑free and operating at correct temperatures.
• Coordinate sorting, washing schedules, and distribution of linen for guest cabins, crew areas, food & beverage, spa, pool and cruise‑division costume needs.
• Submit daily inspection reports to the Executive Housekeeper and First Engineer.
• Manage chemical supplies, adhere to budget limits and liaise with the Ecolab representative for machine calibration.
• Oversee cleaning of non‑logo uniforms and ensure all work areas remain clean, sanitized and organized.
• Address guest‑related laundry issues and direct problem resolutions to the Executive Housekeeper.

Required profile

• Strong judgment for corrective actions and quality control.
• Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
• Effective coordination with multiple ship departments.
• Experience handling chemical supplies and budgeting.
