Server Level-2 Engineer – Windows & Linux

About the role

The Server Level‑2 Engineer provides advanced operational support for both Windows and Linux server environments. Acting as the escalation point for Level‑1 teams, you will ensure service stability, perform root‑cause analysis, and collaborate with engineering and vendor partners.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve escalated server incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and restore services.
• Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and patch management.
• Support Linux servers – OS troubleshooting, LVM, NFS/CIFS mounts, SELinux, PAM and LDAP integration.
• Manage identity and access via Active Directory, Azure AD and Azure AD Connect.
• Maintain endpoint management tools such as MECM/SCCM and Intune.
• Monitor and support VMware vSphere infrastructure, including VM provisioning and performance tuning.
• Develop automation scripts using PowerShell and Bash to improve efficiency.
• Execute change management procedures, backup monitoring, disaster‑recovery validation and documentation updates.
• Coordinate with Microsoft, Red Hat, VMware and other vendors for advanced troubleshooting.

Required profile

• 5–8+ years of experience supporting enterprise Windows and Linux server environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• Preferred certifications: Microsoft Certified (Windows Server/Azure), RHCSA/RHCE, VMware VCP, ITIL Foundation.
