Senior MES Principal System Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an external MES Technical Specialist to support our IT O&L Manufacturing Execution teams. The role ensures the smooth day‑to‑day operation of our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) landscape, handling increasing workloads and expanding system coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of MES applications and platforms, guaranteeing stability, availability, and performance.
• Process service requests and change‑management activities, including testing, documentation, implementation, and communication with IT, business users, and SMEs.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance MES processes, technical operations, support quality, and efficiency.
• Maintain full GxP compliance, overseeing validated systems, controlled access, documentation, training, and audit readiness.
• Coordinate application and infrastructure changes, keep configuration items up to date, and conduct periodic technical and compliance reviews.
• Monitor system performance, capacity, scalability, and security, proposing enhancements as needed.
• Execute disaster‑recovery tests, backup/restore validation, patching, and system upgrades.
• Provide end‑to‑end audit support, preparing evidence and participating on‑site when required.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of professional experience in production‑process environments with a focus on IT systems or engineering.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure (Unix/Linux, Windows, Citrix) and databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Ability to work in an international, intercultural team and a solution‑oriented mindset.
• Advanced or fluent English proficiency.
• Understanding of Operational Technology (OT) environments in manufacturing.
