Senior Java Developer

About the role

Talan is looking for a Senior Java Developer to act as an AI‑Assisted Java Code Analyst. You will help design, analyse and optimise Java‑based solutions for a banking client, using modern development practices and AI‑powered tools.

Key responsibilities

• Develop specifications and deliver technical components, ensuring integration with other teams and systems.
• Document solutions in JIRA, Confluence and ALM.
• Analyse and review Java and Spring Boot applications to improve code quality, scalability and maintainability while reducing technical debt.
• Leverage AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and Devin to accelerate code analysis, refactoring and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify performance bottlenecks and propose improvements.
• Support best‑practice implementation for backend (and frontend) development.
• Contribute to continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
• Manage requests to production support teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Java developer.
• Hands‑on experience with Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with AI‑powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Devin).
• Experience documenting work in JIRA, Confluence or similar ALM tools.
