Senior FreeCAD Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior FreeCAD Engineer to join our remote team on a contract basis. You will be responsible for creating, modifying, and validating detailed parametric CAD models that meet strict project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD.
• Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies using best‑practice design methods.
• Apply GD&T and DFM principles to ensure manufacturability and quality.
• Generate precise technical drawings and documentation for engineering review.
• Conduct engineering QA reviews of CAD models and drawings, identifying and communicating issues.
• Utilize Python scripting to automate repetitive or complex modeling tasks (preferred).
• Collaborate with the team by providing feedback on model accuracy and design intent.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical, product, or industrial engineering with a focus on parametric CAD modeling.
• Advanced proficiency in FreeCAD or an equivalent parametric CAD platform.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design fundamentals, GD&T, and DFM.
• Proven ability to produce comprehensive technical drawings for manufacturing and assembly.
• Experience performing engineering QA and verifying model compliance.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills for remote, project‑based collaboration.
