Senior ETL Developer

About the role

The Senior ETL Developer will design, build, and optimise enterprise‑grade data pipelines for the Ritz‑Carlton Yacht Collection, supporting both cloud‑native and on‑premise environments. You will ensure data integrity, performance, and cost‑efficiency while collaborating with data architects, BI developers, and business analysts.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop and maintain ETL pipelines using SSIS and Matillion, loading data into Snowflake.
• Write complex SQL Server and Snowflake queries, stored procedures, CTEs, and window functions.
• Convert legacy SSIS workflows to Matillion jobs and optimise for cloud execution.
• Design dimensional models (star/snowflake schemas) and data marts.
• Implement error handling, logging, monitoring and data‑quality frameworks.
• Orchestrate workflows with Matillion Scheduler, Airflow, Control‑M or similar tools.
• Collaborate with source system owners to resolve upstream data‑quality issues.

• Ownership mindset with focus on quality, performance and scalability.

Required skills

• SSIS, Matillion, SQL Server, Snowflake.
• Python, Bash or PowerShell for automation.
• Dimensional modeling, SCD (type 1/2), CDC, data‑vault concepts.
• GitHub, Bitbucket or Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Orchestration tools such as Airflow, Control‑M, Matillion Scheduler.
• BI tools: Sigma, Tableau, Power BI, Cognos.
• Data‑governance tools (Collibra, Microsoft Purview, Alation) – a plus.
