Senior Data Engineer (LATAM based)

About the role

Arionkoder is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and maintain a governed data foundation on Databricks that serves AI agents, applications, and business teams across Latin America. You will own the end‑to‑end data lifecycle, ensuring entities are reconciled, facts are sourced and validated, and access controls are enforced.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain ingestion and ETL pipelines from ERP, CRM, product databases and document repositories, deciding on live query vs. batch ingestion.
• Implement entity resolution, history‑aware modeling (SCD Type 2, effective dating) and certify tables with documented business definitions.
• Enforce row‑level security, column masking and role‑based access in Databricks, and extend isolation to APIs and MCP tools for external consumers.
• Develop APIs, webhooks and MCP services that deliver deterministic data while logging access and permissions.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional data engineering experience building production‑grade pipelines and data models.
• 3+ years hands‑on with Databricks in production, including Unity Catalog.
• Proven ability to work autonomously, challenge unclear definitions and own outcomes without micromanagement.

Required skills

• SQL, Python, Spark/PySpark (plus Unity Catalog on Databricks).
• Data modeling techniques such as SCD Type 2, effective dating, provenance and lineage.
• Data quality frameworks (dbt tests, Great Expectations or similar) and CI/CD pipelines for data.
• Practical data governance: row‑level security, column masking, role/attribute‑based access.
• API development and data service design.
