Senior Cloud Architect (AWS, Remote)

About the role

Caylent, an AI-first cloud services company and AWS Premier Tier Services Partner, is looking for a Senior Cloud Architect to join its growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) team. The role is fully remote and involves leading client engagements, designing scalable cloud architectures and mentoring team members.

Key responsibilities

• Lead client engagements, provide thought leadership on scalable cloud architecture and lead cross-functional implementation teams.
• Write Infrastructure as Code in multiple frameworks, automate work and lead re-platforming and refactoring efforts.
• Design AWS-based architectures focused on reliability, security and cost efficiency, and build observability solutions with CloudWatch, X-Ray, Config, Datadog, Dynatrace and OpenTelemetry.
• Help set metrics, runbooks and automation, and work with CloudOps, DevOps and security teams.
• Coach team members, prepare work, contribute to internal IP and open source, and write blogs and give talks.
• Build relationships with vendors and partners, and occasionally travel to meet stakeholders or attend conferences.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field, with 6 years of general IT experience or 8+ years.
• 4+ years of AWS experience and 2+ years of CI/CD experience.
• 4 years of cloud-native patterns such as AWS Lambda, and experience architecting automated infrastructure.
• Experience with Agile project management; preferred: AWS Associate or Professional certification, Python/Node.js/TypeScript/GoLang/Java/C# experience, and client-facing consulting experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the country where the position is located; Caylent does not sponsor visas.
