Senior Backend Developer for Clinical Protocol Platform

About the role

As a Senior Backend Developer you will design, develop and maintain scalable backend services for a clinical protocol authoring platform. You will work with product managers, clinical experts, UX designers, architects and other engineers to deliver secure, high‑quality solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services, APIs, integrations and data models supporting clinical protocol authoring workflows.
• Build scalable solutions for content management, workflow orchestration, approvals, versioning, audit trails, search, notifications and reporting.
• Develop and optimise RESTful APIs and integrate with enterprise platforms, identity providers, document generation services and clinical systems.
• Implement secure coding practices, authorization controls, audit logging, encryption and data‑privacy requirements.

Required profile

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend development expertise.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
• Experience working with cloud‑native platforms, containers, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and observability tools.

Required skills

• Java/Spring Boot.NET, Node.js, Python or similar modern backend technology stack.
• Object‑oriented design, microservices, distributed systems and integration patterns.
• Relational databases, SQL queries and data modelling.
• REST APIs, JSON, API versioning, event‑driven architectures and asynchronous processing.
• Security best practices: OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, RBAC, encryption, authentication and authorization.
