Senior AI Engineer (AI Agents / OpenAI)

About the role

Solvd is looking for a Senior AI Engineer to support presales and opportunity discovery, focusing on designing and optimizing agentic research flows for a customer‑support platform that leverages large language models.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI‑powered features, integrating LLMs and building AI agents.
• Develop end‑to‑end non‑AI services and business logic to complete the solution.
• Build and maintain MCP servers that expose domain data as tools for AI agents.
• Implement Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows using embeddings, chunking and vector databases.
• Instrument and optimize OpenAI integrations for cost, latency and accuracy in production.
• Collaborate with product, design and architecture teams to craft AI‑driven user experiences.
• Participate in technical design reviews, shaping architectural decisions and engineering standards.

Required profile

• 6+ years of server‑side engineering experience with enterprise‑scale systems.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems design patterns and various data stores (relational, document, vector, key‑value).
• Hands‑on experience with the OpenAI ecosystem, especially the OpenAI Agents SDK.
• Fluent in React, Node.js and TypeScript, and comfortable with at least one non‑JS language (Java is a plus).
• Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
