RIS Data Migration Engineer

About the role

The RIS Data Migration Engineer will lead the migration of data between Radiology Information Systems, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards while supporting clinical and administrative teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive RIS data migration strategies.
• Extract, assess, and map legacy clinical, operational, and administrative data.
• Use ETL tools to clean, transform, and load data, including master look‑up tables for physicians, insurers, codes, and facilities.
• Provide post‑migration support, validation, and detailed reporting for stakeholders.
• Document migration methodologies, tools, and processes, and train staff on the new system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, healthcare informatics, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of data migration experience in a healthcare environment.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and self‑management skills.
• Willingness to work occasional off‑hours for migration windows.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ETL processes, SQL, MS SQL Server, Transact‑SQL, triggers, functions, stored procedures, and database schema design.
• Experience handling CSV, Excel, Word, BMP/JPG, PDF, and other file formats.
• Programming in C# and/or Python for data migration tools.
• Linux scripting (Bash, VIM, Python) and familiarity with Mirth/HL7.
