Registered Nurse – Surgery (N2 East)

About the role

The Registered Nurse – Surgery (N2 East) provides professional nursing care for patients with complex and unpredictable health needs in a surgical setting. Working under the general supervision of the Manager, Health Services, the RN delivers independent nursing services, administers prescribed treatments, and leads the health‑care team to ensure coordinated patient care and safe discharge.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing assessments and interventions for surgical patients.
• Administer prescribed medical treatments and medications safely.
• Lead and collaborate with the multidisciplinary health‑care team.
• Coordinate patient care plans, including discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards.

Required profile

• Minimum of one year current medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program.
• Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
• Active participation in professional associations (preferred).
• Current CPR certification.

Required skills

• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training.
