Project Engineer

About the role

Ames Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of construction projects. The role involves scheduling, financial forecasting, operational planning, and risk mitigation to assist field operations.

Key responsibilities

• Review design, contract and bid documents, conduct bid analysis, and process permits.
• Conduct regular meetings with clients, subcontractors, vendors and stakeholders under the Project Manager's supervision.
• Oversee project budgets, monitor cost performance and collaborate with the operations team.
• Provide technical support to operations, perform constructability reviews and ensure compliance with codes, drawings and specifications.
• Manage construction progress and schedule, coordinating with subcontractors, vendors and clients.
• Delegate tasks to team members based on skill sets and capabilities.
• Assist with inspection and documentation to ensure compliance with plans, specifications and regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in construction or a bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Positive attitude with strong motivation.
• Effective time management, multitasking and prioritization abilities.
• High attention to detail.
