PLC Engineer – Siemens Step7 – South America Rotation

About the role

We are looking for an experienced PLC Engineer to support a major industrial project in South America. The role focuses on Siemens Step7 PLC systems and involves installation, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and start‑up activities on a large‑scale development.

Key responsibilities

• Install and verify PLC hardware and control systems on site.
• Execute pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and start‑up tasks.
• Work extensively with Siemens Step7 PLC programming and configuration.
• Validate I/O signals, instrumentation interfaces, and communication networks.
• Support loop checks, functional testing, and system validation.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues during commissioning.
• Prepare progress reports and technical documentation.
• Integrate field devices with SCADA, DCS, and third‑party systems.
• Coordinate with commissioning, electrical, instrumentation, and operations teams.
• Ensure compliance with project procedures, safety, and quality standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a PLC Engineer in industrial automation projects.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Siemens Step7 PLC systems.
• Experience in installation, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and start‑up activities.
• Good understanding of industrial communication protocols and control system architectures.
• Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Mining, Metals, Infrastructure, or Process Industry projects is highly desirable.
