Patient Advocacy Audit Specialist

About the role

The Patient Advocacy Audit Specialist provides quality assurance for patient advocacy operations, focusing on reviewing and auditing the work of Patient Advocates. This role identifies revenue recovery opportunities and delivers actionable findings to leadership, without direct patient interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Review rejected tasks in the Medication Assistance Program (MAP) daily to verify correct rejection codes.
• Identify miscoded rejections that remain actionable and surface them to the Director of Patient Advocacy.
• Prioritize findings with active recovery potential to prevent revenue leakage.
• Track patterns of rejection code misuse to highlight training gaps or systemic issues.
• Document and report quality findings to support workflow and tool improvements.
• Participate in calibration sessions to align audit standards with operational expectations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
• Prior experience in healthcare, patient access, billing, or quality assurance preferred.
• Familiarity with patient assistance programs, copay support, or pharmaceutical access programs is a plus.
• Experience with healthcare Electronic Health Records (EHRs) such as EPIC, Cerner, Meditech, or Allscripts preferred.
