Part‑time Remote QA Engineer

About the role

This part‑time, fully remote position focuses on delivering high‑quality software through a blend of manual and automated testing. The QA Engineer will validate critical user flows, APIs, and data behavior while collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders to embed quality from the start.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute test strategies that combine manual and automated testing.
• Create and maintain automated test suites for core user flows using Playwright.
• Validate functional, regression, integration, and end‑to‑end scenarios.
• Test multi‑role permission scenarios for Customer, Utility Agent, and Third‑Party users.
• Perform authentication flow testing (OAuth2/OIDC), including token handling and authorization.
• Conduct API testing, verifying responses, permissions, and error handling.
• Validate data integrity and system behavior across key journeys such as consent, dashboards, and data access.
• Contribute to accessibility testing to meet usability and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with developers to surface defects early and improve quality practices.
• Support CI/CD testing automation and align testing with security, reliability, and quality standards.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in QA, covering both manual and automation testing.
• Strong attention to detail and a quality‑first mindset.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced, part‑time environment.
• Advanced written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Playwright for end‑to‑end testing.
• Postman or Swagger for REST API testing.
• Vitest for frontend unit and component testing.
• Understanding of OAuth2 and OIDC authentication flows.
• Familiarity with accessibility testing tools and practices.
• Basic JavaScript programming/scripting.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing integration.
• Agile collaborative team experience.
