Nurse Consultant II

About the role

This home‑based position in the Central/Western Region of North Carolina provides leadership and professional supervision to a team of Nurse Consultants. The role coordinates survey activities to assess compliance with state and federal regulations for home care, home health and hospice agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop, facilitate and evaluate the work of Nurse Consultant I team members.
• Ensure staff efficiently conduct licensure and Medicare/Medicaid certification surveys.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state and departmental guidelines, processes and procedures.
• Assist in creating strategic plans and goals that meet regulatory requirements.
• Conduct licensure and Medicare certification surveys of home care, home health and hospice agencies and review documentation for compliance.
• Provide technical assistance, interpret regulations, analyze survey findings and prepare legally defensible deficiency reports.
• Review providers’ plans of correction to ensure they meet established criteria.
• Offer guidance to facilities, potential providers and the public on licensure and certification processes.

Required profile

• Current nursing license with a strong clinical background.
• Experience in assessment, care planning and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to supervise and mentor nursing staff.
• Residency in one of the specified North Carolina counties.

Required skills

• Regulatory compliance knowledge (state licensure, Medicare/Medicaid certification).
• Survey methodology and analysis.
• Report writing and documentation review.
