Night Housekeeper

About the role

The Night Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining high‑quality cleaning standards and ensuring smooth operation of housekeeping, room service and laundry throughout the night on a cruise vessel. Working closely with the Chief Housekeeper and Butler Manager, the role guarantees guest satisfaction and operational efficiency during overnight hours.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Housekeeper in overseeing all night‑time housekeeping activities.
• Patrol all areas of the ship, identify and resolve issues to maintain standards.
• Process guest orders promptly and accurately.
• Update and monitor the Guest Recovery Log and nightly complaint log.
• Conduct random inspections of public areas, cabins, laundry and room service zones.
• Prepare daily hand‑over reports for the Chief Housekeeper and Butler Manager.
• Maintain crew work schedules, time‑and‑attendance records and employee documentation.
• Lead training sessions for night‑time butlers, utilities and laundry staff.
• Report equipment condition, complete maintenance logs and follow up on pending items.
• Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information and uphold company service standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hospitality housekeeping, preferably on cruise ships.
• Strong supervisory and organizational abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work night shifts and handle guest inquiries with professionalism.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a multicultural crew.
• Commitment to maintaining health, safety and hygiene standards.
