Mobile Core Engineer – Remote

About the role

Telnyx is looking for a senior software engineer with deep mobile telecom experience to join its Core Wireless team. The role focuses on building and maintaining the APIs, services, and systems that power Telnyx’s wireless stack, with a strong emphasis on IoT and 3GPP‑based solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate APIs and backend services for the wireless platform.
• Debug and resolve production issues across multiple layers of the stack.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineers to deliver new features.
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
• Troubleshoot connectivity problems with global roaming partners.

Required profile

• Several years of professional software development experience in multiple languages.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a bias for rapid, iterative development.
• Passion for robustness, correctness, and automated testing.
• Innate curiosity, ownership mindset, and willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Programming languages: Go, Erlang, Elixir.
• Message queues: RabbitMQ, Kafka.
• Databases: PostgreSQL, relational SQL databases, ETS key‑value store.
• Container and orchestration tools: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure: Consul, Jenkins, Prometheus.
• Mobile wireless systems, protocols, and 3GPP specifications.
• IoT platforms and M2M solution design.
