Medical Biller & Coder (Remote – Argentina)

About the role

This is a remote, Argentina‑based independent contractor position supporting outpatient mental health centers. The Medical Biller & Coder will translate clinical documentation into accurate diagnosis and procedure codes, submit claims, and help maintain a clean revenue cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Review clinical notes, treatment plans and provider credentials to ensure all required elements are present before billing.
• Assign appropriate CPT, ICD‑10‑CM and HCPCS codes and enter charges into the EHR or billing system.
• Submit claims in a timely manner, verify patient demographics and insurance details, and correct any rejections or coding errors.
• Support denial resolution, audit readiness, and escalation of missed charges.
• Assist with back‑log reduction, quality assurance reviews and process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of U.S. medical billing and coding experience, preferably in outpatient mental health.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD‑10‑CM and basic HCPCS coding.
• Familiarity with U.S. insurance, Medicaid and managed‑care billing processes.
• Excellent attention to detail, English written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional coding certification (CPC or equivalent) is preferred.
