Mechanical Services Specialist

About the role

The Mechanical Services Specialist is responsible for diagnosing, installing, and repairing mechanical systems and components on a thermal power plant under an O&M contract. The role involves both planned and unplanned interventions on a wide range of equipment, ensuring reliable plant operation.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical failures of pumps, compressors, valves, and piping and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Test, repair, or replace defective components, including electric motor bearings and valves.
• Align and adjust equipment according to specifications and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, calibrations, and tests; complete work orders in the MAXIMO system.
• Identify required spare parts, submit purchasing requisitions, and read technical manuals and P&ID diagrams.
• Collaborate with external contractors on investment projects and adhere to all plant safety procedures.

Required profile

• Recognised technical qualification in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum three years of mechanical experience in an industrial environment, preferably a combined cycle power plant (CCPP).
• Ability to work unsupervised on mechanical tasks at the power station.
• International experience and strong organisational skills are advantageous.
