Mechanical Engineer – Plant Reliability (M/F)

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support the operational reliability of our lithium plant in Salta, Argentina. The role focuses on analysing failures, implementing corrective actions and ensuring compliance with engineering and safety standards to keep the plant running safely and profitably.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct root cause analyses (RCA, FMEA) of recurring equipment failures and define corrective actions.
• Support the Rapid Problem Resolution Task Force and drive correction and improvement initiatives.
• Develop and implement engineering solutions to enhance asset reliability and performance.
• Manage and follow‑up on Management of Change (MOC) processes.
• Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams and monitor equipment performance.
• Identify optimisation opportunities and track key performance indicators.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise technical aspects of contractor work and contribute to continuous technical coverage.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Solid knowledge of mechanical systems and industrial equipment.
• Experience with root cause analysis methodologies such as RCA and FMEA.
• Familiarity with preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance strategies.
• Understanding of Management of Change (MOC) processes and industrial safety standards.
• Experience in industrial or mining environments is preferred.
• Analytical mindset, problem‑solving orientation and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
