Licensed Practical Nurse – Urgent Care

About the role

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Urgent Care provides professional nursing services to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs. Working under the general supervision of the Manager, Health Services, the LPN delivers independent nursing care, administers prescribed treatments, and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to urgent‑care patients, including assessments and interventions.
• Administer prescribed medications and medical treatments safely and accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, and allied health professionals to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Participate in emergency nursing orientation and ongoing training programs.

Required profile

• Recent related nursing experience; current emergency nursing experience preferred.
• Satisfactory employment record.
• Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing education program.
• Successful completion of WRHA Emergency Nursing Orientation (ENO) Level 1 within two months of hire.
