Legal Counsel – Advanced Portuguese, LATAM Governance

About the role

The Office of the Secretary (OTS) at JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Legal Counsel to join the Subsidiary Corporate Governance Team for the Americas. Based in Buenos Aires, the role supports governance, regulatory and internal policy needs for Brazilian subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on subsidiary corporate governance matters and conduct legal research on Brazilian corporate and financial institution law.
• Prepare and manage Board, committee and shareholder agendas, materials, resolutions and minutes.
• Handle periodic and event‑driven regulatory filings, including updates to online regulator systems.
• Maintain legal entity records, support signing authority processes and draft powers of attorney.
• Coordinate legal entity simplification and restructuring initiatives with internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate governance or legal entity management.
• Law degree with advanced proficiency in English and Portuguese (written and spoken).
• Strong knowledge of Brazilian corporate law, especially for closely held corporations and financial institutions.
• Detail‑oriented, sound judgment and ability to work in a process‑driven environment.
