Lead Inventory Specialist - LATAM

About the role

Baker Hughes, a global energy technology company active in more than 120 countries, is looking for a Lead Inventory Specialist in its Supply Chain organization. The role drives inventory optimization strategies that support business objectives while balancing customer needs and operational efficiency, working closely with supply chain, manufacturing, planning and regional teams to keep inventory levels optimal and reduce excess and aging stock.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor inventory levels so weekly fluctuations match business requirements and operational targets
• Implement stocking strategies that optimize product availability while minimizing carrying costs
• Develop and run programs to maximize inventory utilization and operational efficiency
• Monitor safety stock, global inventory and aging inventory, partnering with regions and manufacturing plants to address risks and opportunities
• Provide updates on inventory projections and develop mitigation plans for potential gaps or excess
• Review slow-moving inventory with regional stakeholders and collaborate to minimize inventory risks
• Forecast inventory reserves and create action plans to mitigate inventory exposure
• Partner with Demand Planning teams on net demand plans and with Supply Planning teams on stocking strategies for local suppliers and service providers
• Support new product introductions and plan for replaced or obsolete inventory

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain operations, demand planning or related fields
• Experience in inventory optimization, order management, asset utilization and inventory control
• Strong knowledge of SAP systems and MRP functionality
• Ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate across functions and regions; strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• APICS, CPIM, CSCP or similar supply chain certifications are an advantage
