Junior JavaScript & Python Developer – Creative Automation

About the role

WPP Production is seeking a Junior JavaScript & Python Developer to join its creative automation team. You will work on building Photoshop plugins using Adobe’s Unified Extensibility Platform (UXP) and create Python scripts that automate high‑volume image processing within the production pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and debug in‑app Photoshop panels and dialogs with JavaScript (ES6+), HTML and CSS inside the UXP environment.
• Write standalone Python scripts for batch image manipulation, leveraging libraries such as Pillow or OpenCV.
• Automate repetitive tasks like bulk resizing, filtering and multi‑format exports using the Photoshop DOM API.
• Integrate RESTful services to inject dynamic data into Photoshop layers and generate design variations.
• Build bridge scripts that enable JavaScript plugins to trigger Python back‑ends for AI inference or metadata handling.

Required profile

• Junior‑level experience or strong academic background in software development.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a remote tooling team and report to the Lead Photoshop Screen Artist.
• Interest in creative technology and automation within a media production environment.

Required skills

• JavaScript (ES6+), including Async/Await and Promises.
• HTML & CSS for UI development.
• Adobe UXP for Photoshop plugin creation.
• Python scripting, with familiarity of Pillow or OpenCV.
• Experience consuming REST APIs (Fetch, Requests).
• Understanding of Photoshop DOM API.
