Java Developer (Spring Boot, REST APIs)

About the role

ROKO Labs is looking for a motivated Java Developer to join its fast‑growing product and technology consultancy. You will work on a variety of software projects for Fortune 500 clients and VC‑backed start‑ups, writing clean code and collaborating directly with product owners and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java‑based applications using Spring Boot and OpenJDK.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs and ensure production systems run at scale.
• Make technical decisions, conduct code reviews, and uphold best‑practice standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams using agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA, Trello or Asana.
• Utilise version control (Git) and containerisation (Docker) in daily workflows.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Java Developer.
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot, OpenJDK, Groovy, JUnit and Spock.
• Hands‑on experience with REST APIs, Git, Docker, Terraform and Prometheus.
• Familiarity with agile development cycles and SDLC for medium to large projects.
• Intermediate or higher proficiency in spoken and written English.
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
