Internal Audit Team Lead – Loan Operations & Compliance

About the role

World Business Lenders is seeking an experienced Internal Audit Team Lead to oversee audit engagements across loan operations, post‑closing, and compliance. The role combines hands‑on audit fieldwork with supervision of a pod of four analysts, ensuring high‑quality audit deliverables and effective risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute audits of loan origination, underwriting, servicing, collections, and post‑closing processes.
• Review and provide feedback on analysts' workpapers, testing results, and audit reports.
• Assess compliance with regulatory requirements, investor guidelines, and internal policies.
• Track audit findings, follow up with management, and validate remediation actions.
• Coach, train, and evaluate the performance of four Internal Audit Analysts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Auditing or related field.
• 6‑8 years of internal audit experience, preferably in loan operations or financial services.
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) required; CPA, CISA, CRMA or CFE a strong plus.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1) with strong written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of internal controls, risk assessment and audit methodology.
• Familiarity with loan operations, post‑closing and compliance functions.
• Experience with ERP and workflow platforms such as LAPro, QuickBase, Monday.com.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
