Industrial Facilities & Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

Philadelphia Gear is looking for a reliable, hands‑on Industrial Facilities & Maintenance Mechanic to keep its manufacturing plant running smoothly. The role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems while supporting production operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, facility systems and support equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical issues that affect production.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment, building systems and grounds to identify maintenance needs.
• Carry out basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and general facility repairs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns.
• Assist with installation, relocation and modification of equipment and infrastructure.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, hoists and other material‑handling equipment as required.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for specialized work.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders.
• Follow all safety, health and environmental procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial or facilities maintenance, construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or a related skilled trade.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams and work instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Capability to work independently, prioritize tasks and communicate effectively with team members.
• U.S. citizenship or authorized to work in the United States.
