High School English Teacher (Maternity Leave Cover)

About the role

Lincoln High School is seeking a full‑time English Teacher to cover a maternity leave. The position offers flexibility on the start date, with options to begin in November 2026 or February 2027. The role is focused on delivering high‑quality English instruction to high‑school students, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) Literature curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with school standards and learning objectives.
• Foster a classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, communication, student engagement, and academic growth.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students and families.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student learning.
• Support diverse learners through differentiated instruction and appropriate learning strategies.
• Participate in school activities, meetings, and ongoing professional development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Valid teaching certification appropriate to the subject and grade level.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
• Minimum 2–3 years of classroom teaching experience, including high‑school English.
• Experience teaching IB Literature HL/SL; experience in an IB setting is preferred.
• Experience working with diverse learners and using differentiated instruction strategies.
