Health Care Aide – Urgent Care (Winnipeg)

About the role

The Health Care Aide (HCA) joins the Urgent Care team at Concordia Hospital, providing essential support to patients under the supervision of registered nurses and licensed practical nurses. This position offers a blend of day, night, and weekend shifts, allowing you to contribute to high‑quality, equitable health care in Winnipeg.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living activities, hygiene, and mobility.
• Support nursing staff by preparing equipment, documenting observations, and reporting changes in patient condition.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment in patient care areas.
• Participate in patient transport and positioning as needed.
• Follow infection‑control protocols and hospital policies at all times.

Required profile

• Recent patient‑care experience (within the last four years) or equivalent.
• Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Health Care Aide certificate from a recognized college or educational institution.
• Current CPR certification in line with employer policy.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification for Urgent Care, with annual recertification; must be obtained within two months of hire.
