About the role

As a Senior Government Affairs Manager you will act as the strategic expert on the political and regulatory landscape for PMI in your market. You will design and execute engagement strategies that align with business objectives and the company’s Smoke‑Free Vision, while building strong relationships with government bodies, regulators and key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement government engagement strategies aligned with business goals.
• Build and manage relationships with government officials, regulators, NGOs, industry associations and consultants.
• Monitor political, legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.
• Support advocacy initiatives and contribute to public‑policy positioning.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as Legal, Communications and Marketing to ensure alignment.
• Drive stakeholder‑engagement initiatives and create evidence‑based narratives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Law, Finance or related field preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in public affairs, government relations or regulatory environments.
• Proven track record of engaging with government institutions and regulatory authorities.
• Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., tobacco, pharma, energy, alcohol, chemicals, construction) is a strong advantage.
• Preferred: background in government roles, senior civil service, or consultancy; experience within PMI or similar multinational organizations.
