General Manager - Marketing and Ecommerce Growth

About the role

HoopStars, a Toronto‑based youth basketball business, is seeking a hands‑on General Manager to drive marketing, ecommerce and profitable growth. The role is remote within LATAM, working on Toronto hours, and will split time between running HoopStars and building the parent company’s marketing team.

Key responsibilities

• Own HoopStars’ business plan, budget, revenue, profitability and cash forecasts.
• Lead sales and operations to ensure programmes, coaches, venues and service quality meet demand.
• Drive digital growth through paid search, social, creative, landing pages, enrollment funnels, pricing, offers, referrals and retention.
• Define, recruit and manage the parent company’s marketing team across multiple brands.
• Connect campaign performance to paying customers, repeat enrollment and contribution profit, allocating marketing spend based on reliable reporting and testing.

Required profile

• Proven track record building ecommerce or consumer‑brand growth, with responsibility for pricing, margins, staffing and profitability.
• Experience hiring and managing marketers, creatives, agencies or other specialists.
• Strong professional English and ability to lead remote teams.
• Background in youth sports, education, fitness or multi‑location services is a plus.
