Freelance Quantum Research Scientist (Python)

About the role

We are looking for a freelance Quantum Research Scientist to design and deliver computational physics problems for AI testing and evaluation projects. The role is project‑based, remote, and suited to researchers with strong Python skills who can create realistic, computationally intensive challenges across multiple physics domains.

Key responsibilities

• Design original computational physics problems that mimic real research workflows in quantum mechanics, mechanics, electromagnetism, and thermodynamics.
• Create problem statements that require Python solutions using libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, and SymPy.
• Ensure problems are computationally intensive and cannot be solved manually within reasonable timeframes.
• Base challenges on actual research questions or practical applications from physics practice.
• Validate solutions with Python and standard physics simulation libraries.
• Document problem statements clearly and provide verified correct answers.

Required profile

• Degree in Physics (theoretical, experimental, or computational) or a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in research, applied physics, or teaching.
• Proficiency in Python for numerical validation and experience with numerical simulation methods.
• Ability to design problems that reflect genuine physics research workflows.
• Strong written English (C1 level or higher).
