Environmental & Permitting Manager

About the role

Eramine Sudamérica SA, a subsidiary of the French mining group Eramet, is seeking an experienced Environmental & Permitting Manager to define and implement its environmental and permitting strategy. The role supports both the Salta City office and the Ratones mining site, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead the environmental management and permitting strategy for all operations and projects.
• Ensure compliance with Argentine environmental legislation and international standards such as IFC and IRMA.
• Maintain relationships with national and provincial authorities, regulatory agencies, and key stakeholders.
• Coordinate environmental teams across projects, promoting standardised practices and capability development.
• Oversee planning and monitoring of environmental permits aligned with operational needs.
• Monitor environmental performance through indicators, audits and assurance processes.
• Identify environmental risks and drive mitigation measures and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to Eramet Group’s sustainability and corporate responsibility commitments.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences or a related field.
• More than 15 years of experience in environmental management and permitting within mining, oil & gas or large‑scale industrial sectors.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating activities across multiple projects.
• Strong knowledge of Latin American environmental legislation and international standards (IFC, IRMA).
• Experience managing relationships with government authorities and regulatory agencies.
• Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Strong leadership, strategic vision and stakeholder influence.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in international and multicultural environments.
