Electrical Engineer – Expat Relocation to Saudi Arabia

About the role

Saudi Aramco is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the Downstream Power Systems Planning Department in Dhahran. The role involves managing third‑party contracts, ensuring technical compliance, and supporting the strategic planning of power systems across the downstream business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage third‑party and joint‑venture agreements, including energy conversion and power purchase contracts.
• Review and verify third‑party billing, capacity charges, energy charges, penalties, and availability factors.
• Perform detailed performance analyses and benchmarking of third‑party cogeneration systems.
• Monitor power offtake, analyze variances, and produce short‑ and long‑term energy forecasts.
• Identify operational, commercial, and contractual risks related to offtake arrangements.
• Prepare comprehensive offtake reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support audits with technical expertise and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and market policies.
• Collaborate with operations, planning, project management, legal, and external partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum 15 years of field experience in utility or industrial sectors, with deep knowledge of cogeneration technologies and IPP schemes.
• Proven experience with BOOT, BOO, Power Purchase and Energy Conversion Agreements.
• Strong analytical and negotiation abilities.
