DevOps Engineering Lead – Cloud & Platform

About the role

As a DevOps Engineering Lead you will design, implement and evolve enterprise DevOps platforms, cloud infrastructure and automation frameworks that support critical pharmaceutical early discovery research applications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead DevOps strategy, platform architecture, automation standards and technical roadmaps across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Design, implement and optimise CI/CD pipelines for applications, APIs, databases, data platforms and infrastructure deployments.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform and cloud‑native technologies.
• Drive containerisation and orchestration initiatives with Docker and Kubernetes while ensuring reliability, security and performance.
• Establish observability, DevSecOps, release governance and operational‑excellence practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• 15+ years of IT engineering experience with strong DevOps, cloud infrastructure and technical leadership background.
• Proven ability to lead large‑scale modernisation, cloud migrations and platform engineering programmes.
• Experience collaborating with cross‑functional scientific and business stakeholders.

Required skills

• CI/CD platforms: GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, Jenkins.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
• Containerisation: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Scripting/automation: Python, Bash, PowerShell.
• Linux administration, networking, IAM, security controls.
• Observability: monitoring, logging, alerting, dashboards.
