Derivatives Accounting & Reporting Analyst

About the role

The Derivatives Accounting and Reporting Analyst will lead the preparation, review, and oversight of derivative accounting, reconciliations, and US GAAP financial disclosures for MetLife’s U.S. legal entities. This role ensures accurate, timely reporting and supports compliance with regulatory requirements while collaborating with global cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preparation and review of derivative accounting entries, reconciliations, and quarterly/annual US GAAP disclosures (10Q/10K footnotes).
• Create and document efficient reporting processes to ensure audit readiness and consistency.
• Oversee data integrity and reporting accuracy for derivative instruments across systems.
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders (Investments, CAR) and external auditors.
• Develop and enhance internal controls and procedures to improve quality and compliance.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge applied to complex derivative transactions.
• Proven ability to analyze complex accounting issues and work independently.
• Experience in results‑oriented environments with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
