Database Administrator / Engineer (Remote)

About the role

FreightPOP is looking for a full‑time Database Administrator / Engineer to own and optimise its SQL Server environment hosted in AWS while also managing Azure‑based cloud infrastructure. The role is remote and open to candidates residing in Mexico, Brazil or Argentina.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and optimise the SQL Server environment on AWS.
• Design, implement and maintain scalable, secure and highly available solutions in Microsoft Azure.
• Provision, configure and maintain cloud servers, container platforms and network infrastructure.
• Apply updates, security patches and vulnerability remediation across cloud environments.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting and observability to ensure platform health.
• Perform capacity planning, cost optimisation and resource utilisation tracking.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, performance and availability issues.
• Manage identity, access control and security policies.
• Automate infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform.
• Collaborate with Development, Cloud Operations and Product teams.
• Maintain documentation and support incident response.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in Cloud Operations, Systems Administration, DevOps or similar roles.
• Fluent English and residency in Mexico, Brazil or Argentina.
