Data Collection & Integrations Engineer

About the role

ExtractSingular is a marketing intelligence platform that connects marketing, attribution and business data across platforms. Its Extract product is a data movement platform that collects, transforms and moves data between the tools companies use every day. The company is looking for a Data Collection & Integrations Engineer to build the infrastructure and integrations that power Extract, working on the full integration lifecycle from understanding third-party systems and APIs to designing connectors, implementing authentication and data collection flows, and keeping integrations reliable as usage and data volumes grow.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain data collection integrations and connectors with external platforms.
• Integrate with REST, GraphQL, webhook and other third-party APIs.
• Build scalable data pipelines for collecting, processing, normalizing and moving large volumes of data.
• Implement authentication mechanisms including OAuth, API keys, tokens and other authorization flows.
• Handle real-world integration challenges such as pagination, rate limits, retries, API inconsistencies, schema changes and data freshness.
• Build infrastructure and reusable frameworks that speed up development of new integrations.
• Monitor and improve the reliability, performance and scalability of existing connectors.
• Investigate complex integration and data-quality issues across systems.
• Work with Product to understand customer data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Take ownership of integrations from initial design through production and ongoing maintenance.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Computer Science, Engineering or related technical degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong backend engineering skills and experience building production systems.
• Ability to independently investigate third-party APIs and turn their documentation and behavior into reliable production integrations.
• Strong ownership mentality and ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment.

Required skills

• RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Web technologies and protocols: HTTP, OAuth, authentication, cookies, webhooks.
• Data pipelines, integrations, connectors or data ingestion systems.
• Strong SQL with structured and semi-structured data.
• Python or another backend programming language.
• Advantages: Rust, ETL/ELT, reverse ETL, data movement products, cloud storage on AWS, GCP or Azure, database and data warehouse integrations, connector frameworks or integration SDKs, high-volume or distributed data systems.
