Cost Engineer – Cost Estimating & Control

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a Cost‑QURR Engineer to support the delivery of critical mineral production projects. In this full‑time onsite role you will apply cost estimating, analysis and control techniques to ensure projects stay within budget and schedule while supporting the transition to clean energy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts and cost‑control systems.
• Coordinate with all departments to align cost data with the overall project schedule.
• Verify quantities and labor hours received from subcontractors and validate them with construction and field engineering teams.
• Identify schedule constraints, perform critical‑path analysis and report performance against the total project plan.
• Record, monitor and report cost data in compliance with company standards.
• Prepare weekly reports of hours spent and earned, and conduct cost variance analysis.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cost estimating, budgeting and cost control for large‑scale construction or mining projects.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to quantify risks and recommend alternatives.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, construction and procurement teams.
